OPA and Cedar are general-purpose policy engines; neither was designed for AI execution paths. Kastra is purpose-built for restricting file-system access for agents: it understands LLM context, tool schemas, model confidence, and agent identity chains. Custom guards drift, miss edge cases, and produce no audit evidence. Kastra ships with deterministic policy, sub-millisecond evaluation, and cryptographically chained logs.
